St Michael's is a lovely church in which to be married, and we are always delighted when couples decide to make their vows here. We have to conform to the Church of England stipualtions for marriages in a Parish Church which are as follows:

  • One of you were baptised or prepared for confirmation in our parish;
  • One of you has at any time lived in our parish for six months or more;
  • One of you has at any time regularly attended public worship in our parish for six months or more;
  • One of your parents has lived in the parish for six months or more in your lifetime;
  • One of your parents has regularly attended public worship here for six months or more during your lifetime;
  • Your parents or grandparents were married in the parish.

We are happy to read your Banns if you are being married in another  parish but live in this one. You will need to complete a Banns applicaiton form which is available from the Revd Neil Short on 0151 378 0332 or Helen Hunter on 0151 931 1454.

Further information about planning your wedding, including fees, is available on the Church of England Website,

We can now offer a livestreaming of your service if it would be beneficial for your family or friends who maybe are unable to join you in person.

If you would like to use the livestreaming service please advise accordingly.
We will send you the link several days before the service, so you can forward it to your family and friends. The link will be available only for your guests and will be removed a few days after the service.

The Livestream system has been installed by a professional company, and every effort has been made to achieve the best possible results. Technology can however have its problems so we cannot guarantee that there will not be any technical issues on the day.

Before making your decision you may wish to view last Sundays Church service.
Go to the webpage for St Michaels
At the bottom of the page click on the link for ‘Livestream Service’

The cost for this Livestreaming Service is £50.
